No Rest For The Wicked
We have just finished our run of Jane Eyre, directed by Andrew Smith for Tread the Boards and had great reviews throughout both from the papers and the patrons on TripAdvisor, Facebook and beyond. Indeed we've just been nominated for the long-list for the Stratford Fringie Awards!

The live sound created by the cast went down a treat and people seemed to love the original music. It was an exhausting show for all of us though - I was on stage for all but 90 seconds of the show, but the rest of the cast were so busy with SFX and music (Ethan with his brilliant original guitar pieces and Ruth on the recorder) that no-one was able to rest.

And now onto the next. It seems like I've had another very lucky year so far. At the beginning of the year I had one project lined up in January and nothing more, but, as it has turned out, I've not stopped working and knowing how rare that is in this industry I am terribly grateful.
Next up is the truly gorgeous new musical The Stars That Remain by Adrian Kimberlin which is being directed by Alan Magor. It's my first time working with these two and, indeed, with most of the cast, but so far it's been brilliant fun and lots of rehearsals filled with laughter. I play 'Stella', a single mum who is doing whatever she needs to survive and have loved recording the soundtrack in the studio which will be on sale at the shows. I also tested my arthritic knees to the max during a 'lap-dancing' rehearsal last week so I can assure you, there's a whole lot of work going into this show! It runs at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham on 8th - 10th Nov.

Before that gets going however, I've been drafted in at the last minute to the Worcester Rep's Twelfth Night and will be playing Olivia, a role I once shared with my fellow Quiche-eating Lesbian, Melissa Whitehead, at BSA. This time I need to learn it all though, and in a far shorter time as it starts rehearsals in a week and it goes up on 16th October until 20th October.
And that's not all. There is news to come of other projects which I am really excited to be a part of in the new year but that will have to wait for another post.
